L’Homme Business Heritage Group was founded by Serge L’Homme, also known as the “Spice Man.” With a passion and love for his country the Commonwealth of Dominica, Mr. L’Homme embarked on a mission to revolutionize Dominica’s economy and image by utilizing the country’s natural resources and incorporating its naturally inherited culture into his multi-business organization. From the beginning, his goal was clear positively contribute back to his country through impactful actions and boost its reputation.
In 2003, he established a modest spice shop named 'Caribbean Magic Spice,'
located in a dilapidated building on King George V Street. This building has since
been renovated and is now known as 'Ruins Rock Cafe’. For six years, Caribbean
Magic Spice was Mr. L’Homme’s sole
By 2009, Ruins Rock Cafe was established, initially focusing on the sale of
flavored local rums infused with his spices. The venue evolved into a distinctive
and exclusive dining and entertainment destination, renowned for its exotic
Caribbean and Creole cuisine, as well as its rich Dominican cultural and
architectural influences.
In 2016, another venture under the L’Homme Business Heritage Group was established - the Hi-Rise Beach Bar. Situated at the corner of Dame Mary Eugenia Charles Boulevard and Bow Lane, Bayfront, Dominica, this establishment mirrors the concept of Ruins Rock Cafe by offering a diverse selection of rums and culinary delights to both locals and tourists. However, Hi-Rise Beach Bar provides a more relaxed, beachside experience. Despite being devastated by Hurricane Maria in 2017, the restaurant was renovated and reopened in 2018.
In 2024, Mr. L’Homme launched a new initiative, L’Homme Family Farms, a non-profit organization dedicated to supplying Ruins Rock Cafe and Hi-Rise Beach Bar with high-quality manufacturing resources.
