In his board-level capacity, he supports structured decision-making, accountability frameworks, and sustainable enterprise growth.
With over two decades of cross-industry leadership experience across Asia and the Caribbean, Mr. Bercasio has worked within hospitality, integrated resorts, corporate planning, partnerships development, brand management, and enterprise transformation environments. His professional background reflects a consistent focus on elevating organizations from founder-driven operations to professionally governed, systems-based enterprises capable of scalable and sustainable growth.
His academic foundation in commerce, marketing and development communication, complemented by postgraduate business studies and executive education in strategic brand management, financial management, business analytics, and business strategy, reinforces his integrated approach to organizational development — aligning vision, governance discipline, financial structure, and market positioning.
Collaboration and Institutional Framing
Mr. Bercasio’s professional collaboration with founder Serge L’homme began in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Maria in 2017. At a time when much of the island remained without services, Ruins Rock Café was among the earliest establishments to reopen and provide meals to the community. Mr. Bercasio visited the café simply in search of food during the recovery period. What began as a routine customer interaction gradually evolved into a substantive conversation about business, resilience, and the future of enterprise in Dominica.
That initial exchange led to deeper strategic discussions over time. As national rebuilding efforts unfolded, both men found common ground in their shared concern for institutional development and long-term economic advancement. These conversations ultimately gave rise to a broader vision for formalizing and structuring the founder’s growing portfolio of businesses into a cohesive and professionally governed enterprise.
Drawing on experience within multi-unit and conglomerate structures, Mr. Bercasio introduced a framework centered on governance discipline, defined mission and vision, scalable systems, and institutional positioning.
He contributed to the conceptual framing and naming of the Group. While “Culture” was initially considered to reflect the founder’s advocacy, the term “Heritage” was adopted to signal institutional permanence, legacy, and professional positioning — ensuring the enterprise would be perceived as a structured business group rather than a cultural association.
Mr. Bercasio also played a role in refining the visual identity of several business units, including Ruins Rock Café, Hi-Rise Beach Bar, and Caribbean Magic Spice, aligning them under a more cohesive brand presentation. He further recommended formalizing the residential rental component above Hi-Rise Beach Bar under the distinct identity “Hi-Rise Residences,” complete with dedicated branding to strengthen its positioning during peak tourism seasons.
Beyond business strategy, their alignment was deeply intellectual and influenced by both Eastern philosophical traditions and classical Stoic thought. Both shared an appreciation for schools of thought rooted in Vedantic and Buddhist-influenced ideas — particularly those emphasizing self-mastery, detachment from ego, disciplined thinking, mindfulness, and clarity before action. These perspectives were complemented by Stoic principles centered on resilience, rational judgment, emotional regulation, and responsibility in leadership. They were also drawn to Zen philosophy, Confucian ethics, and elements of Japanese philosophical culture focused on refinement, harmony, and continuous improvement.
Their conversations frequently explored themes of inner governance preceding outer leadership, responsibility over impulse, balance between ambition and restraint, and the long-term consequences of decision-making. These philosophical foundations naturally translated into discussions about enterprise building — reinforcing the belief that disciplined organizations are first shaped by disciplined minds.
They likewise connected over a mutual appreciation for learning, books, multicultural experiences, and reflective discourse. While Mr. L’homme brought deeply entrepreneurial instincts and grassroots commercial experience, Mr. Bercasio contributed a structured corporate perspective shaped by work within larger institutional environments. This complementary dynamic — entrepreneurial drive paired with governance-oriented discipline — formed the foundation of their collaboration.
What began as strategic dialogue gradually developed into both professional partnership and personal friendship, grounded in shared values, intellectual curiosity, and a common desire to contribute meaningfully to Dominica’s development.
Drawing on experience within multi-unit and conglomerate structures, Mr. Bercasio introduced a framework centered on governance discipline, defined mission and vision, scalable systems, and institutional positioning. In 2018, the founder incorporated the holding structure that would evolve into L’homme Business Heritage Group.
Philosophy and Approach
Mr. Bercasio approaches enterprise development through a governance-first lens. He emphasizes:
Strategic Clarity – A clearly articulated purpose, mission, and long-term vision.
Institutional Discipline – Systems, policies, and measurable objectives that reduce dependency on individuals.
Brand Integrity – Alignment between internal operations and external market perception.
Scalable Architecture – Building structures capable of supporting multi-unit growth and diversification.
He maintains that enduring success requires not only entrepreneurial drive, but institutional structure — ensuring that businesses evolve beyond personality and operate with accountability, resilience, and strategic coherence.
As Independent Director and Strategic Advisor, Mr. Bercasio contributes at both governance and strategic levels — supporting board oversight, institutional strengthening, structural alignment, and long-range growth planning. His role extends beyond advisory input to include reinforcing accountability frameworks, strategic coherence, and disciplined decision-making within the Group’s evolution toward a more professionally governed enterprise.
